One of the foods that’s on my Favorites List is sausage. It’s something about the savory, spicy seasoning combined with the crisp-on-the-outside, moist-on-the inside-texture that gets me every time.
This seasoning is great for people like me, because I don’t want any of the “extras”, like sweeteners and preservatives, that are typically found in commercial sausage seasonings, in my sausage. I want my sausage low carb, but full flavor!

Sausage Seasoning Blend
This seasoning is great with ground chicken, as well as the traditional ground pork! If you’re using ground chicken, be sure not to overcook it – you don’t want it to be dry.
Ingredients
- 4 t dried parsley
- 1 T Italian Seasoning
- 1 1/2 t fennel seed
- 2 t garlic powder
- 2 t paprika
- 2 t salt
- 2 t black pepper
- 1/2 t red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Mix together all the spices and store in an air-tight container.
- Use 1-2 T per pound of ground meat.
