True Confession: I’m not much of a gardener. I APPRECIATE fresh produce (and a beautiful flower garden), but gardening is not really my thing. Dirt and I are not really friends. Luckily for me, I married a man who’s got it in his blood.
We’ve had a small garden for years and my husband always complains that I don’t reap its harvest enough…and he’s right. (I also don’t weed it enough, but that’s a whole other story.)
So, a few years ago, my husband decided to take half of the already-small garden and plant a strawberry patch. It’s taken a few years, but we now get the best-tasting strawberries.
This is awesome, because I LOVE strawberries.
Strawberries often top the Dirty Dozen list, but we don’t use pesticides or fertilizers in the garden so ours are pretty clean, not to mention delicious.
I use them anyway I can and I love them in this Low Carb Strawberry Shake. I’ve also used them in my Strawberry Orange Cobbler.

Low Carb Strawberry Shake
Equipment
- blender
Ingredients
- 1/4 c heavy cream
- 1 c almond milk
- 2-3 t Pyure or 4-6 t sugar, if not low carb
- 1 dash slat
- 2 c ice
- 1 c strawberries approximately 5 large or 10 small
Instructions
- Blend until smooth.
